Operating System (Linux Distribution)

The chances are that if you are a frequenter of my website or services then you probably don't use Linux. Linux is an alternative to Microsoft Windows operating systems and whilst free of charge, is not compatible with many of the applications most of you use.

The reason I want to draw your attention to Linux (and Linux Mint in particular) is because if you are in a position to consider moving away from commercial software (for the financial savings or because of your philosophical support in Open Source software), Linux Mint is an ideal place to start.

Based on the popular Ubuntu distribution it brings many Windows-like features and visuals which makes the learning curve much shallower for novice users. Given the current state of the economy - Linux may offer your organisation a considerable cost benefit (although please consider the possible staff training costs before making the switch).
